7thLesson: How to exercise and play in practice

Both players sit opposite to another (as the pieces are setup). It`s not an obligate rule, but i prefer to teach not only how to play, but how to play in a pleasant atmosphere. As i said-chess is a game (a very beautiful one) but nothing more. I learnt chess by my father, even though he was not an excellent chessplayer, he had found a new "chess-philosophy". Your "opponent" is not your "opponent" but your partner. Both ones try to solve the riddle that the partner gives them. Who solved it better, wins. Sure you can have sometimes bad circumstances, eg that you are tired or stressed or you have pains, that could make ita little harder to "solve the riddle", but your partner can have "bad luck" another day too. You both can be friends. My father could have written a whole chessbook about his philosophy. He was an average player, but he had a very good image in the chessclub and he became "President of Honour" in the club. I for myself know both kinds of playing. I was a regional champion of girld`s chess 25 years ago, but since i play with this philosophy, i learnt to love chess, before i only played it. And i must say it much more fun so, independent of the number of my won games (solved riddles)! To solve it is a challenge for your mind- and that makes it so interesting, as long as you do it without pressure! They day where you win a game (solve the riddle) will come! And exercise without pressure too learning chess is a riddle too!

WHO SOLVES THE RIDDLE?

In future you`ll learn how to learn and play by e-mail. After this course you`ll know how to setup a chessboard, the pieces, the notation of moves and pieces- and- how to play (and in the beginning to try it ) with more fun! By this way a real beginner can already love chess-it requires not a high playing strenght or rating (club). Play all our examples for yourself at: www.apronus.com/chess/wbeditor.php In our next course (for beginners) we`ll talk about end games and talk about simple mating-positions.
